About this objectBarrow to carry fired bricks or fired/unfired pipes. The headboard allows stacking of fired bricks or the stable carrying of fired or green pipes. The rubber tyre cushions shock loading from uneven ground. However, the original wheel was probably steel or cast iron. Single-wheeled unbalanced barrow of heavy timber construction with headboard. Head posts half-jointed & bolted to rails, stayed with steel rods flattened at ends. Legs at handle ends likewise, and with feet of steel angle. Deck and headboard cross-planked, no beams. Steel axle U-bolted to cast axle bearer bolted through longitudinal block to rail each side. Proprietary steel wheel and inflatable rubber tyre.
