Talk: Lady Barbara Harvey & Gayle Marshall at Te Toi Uku
oin us at Te Toi Uku for a talk by Lady Barbara Harvey and Gayle Marshall on their book Whispers in the Wind and the work they do for the Friends of Waikumete, est. 1995.
Friends and stalwarts for more than 25 years, they jointly compiled the book Whispers in the Wind in 2017, alongside researcher and historian Lisa Truttman. The book is a snapshot of the lives of several soldiers who were interred at the cemetery between 1881 and 1918.
Both Lady Barbara and Gayle are passionate about preserving the history of the cemetery and caring for the lives represented at Waikumete. They both continue to serve as kaitiaki for this special place.
Take up this unique opportunity to learn about their work within the unique setting of Te Toi Uku – Crown Lynn Museum, followed by morning tea.
