About this objectBoxed set of four cups and saucers.
1. The outer box is rectangular and is made of corrugated cardboard with dark brown decorative borders and text.
2. Removable insert for box. Shaped to contain the cups and saucers, when folded. White on one side, brown on the other.
3-5. Saucer packers. Square dimpled brown paper. The cardboard is called "Dimplex" and was first used in 1965
6-9. Cups. Straight-sided cup with ear-shaped handle. Pale cream speckled colourglaze with floral onglaze transfer motifs front and back in yellow, orange, pink, green and black.
10-13. Saucers. Deep curved saucers with caramel colourglaze on top and clear glaze underneath.
