Te Toi Uku is undergoing a building refresh! Unfortunately, this means we will likely be closed until July, 2025. Although we regret having to close, it is the perfect opportunity to give our displays some attention – swapping out some objects, and installing a couple of completely new displays!  

In preparation for the building’s closure, our team spent a week carefully deinstalling each display and packing the objects away in their boxes. This was a big job – with over 200 objects to be packed! By the last display case, the Museum was almost empty of objects – a pretty surreal feeling.  

Once all the displays were cleared, the Museum was ready for the building work to begin!  

Although the date is not yet confirmed, Te Toi Uku will be hosting a re-opening event to celebrate the completion of these renovations. We look forward to seeing you there!
