Bellamys

In 1977 Crown Lynn was invited to produce tableware for use in Parliament’s restaurant Bellamy’s. They wanted something that went with their new earthy coloured decor. Female MP Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan, who was a fashion leader, strongly approved of Dave Jenkin’s fish hook pattern with a reactive glaze.

The next Government returned to more conservative tastes and returned to fine dinnerware made in Japan.

Because it was made for use in Parliament, this pattern is not often available although some could be bought from Crown Lynn seconds shops.
