Exhibition: Brick (Raw)
Opening soon at Te Toi Uku, Brick (Raw) is an experimental publication project by researchers Rebecca Steedman and Caroline Powley. The project is a response to the iconic ‘CRUM’ brick and New Lynn’s rich ceramic heritage. Celebrating the Ambrico kiln’s centennial anniversary, this publication offers a creative investigation of this historic building through experimental print techniques and material exploration.
The Ambrico kiln is the last remaining structure of Auckland’s brick-making era and a symbol of New Lynn’s industrial history.
